About St Peter's Walworth

Welcome to St Peters!

We are a mixed and diverse congregation – young and old, from all over the world, single, with partner or married but united in our desire to try to understand and communicate Jesus’ message more clearly here in Walworth.

We are “high-church”; in the catholic tradition of the Church of England. We try to be inclusive, because we believe that all people are welcome at God’s table, and that women, lesbian and gay people, and people from minority ethnic groups are all called to full ministry at all levels of the Church.

We believe strongly that the worldwide Anglican Communion is something to celebrate. We support USPG (the United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel) and we are actively developing links with the Anglican Church of Nigeria and the Episcopal Church of the United States.

Our main service is the Sung Parish Mass (Holy Communion) on Sunday mornings at 10.30am and on most Sundays JC (Junior Church) - for children aged 5 to 11 - starts at the same time in church. We also have a quiet Said Mass (Book of Common Prayer) at 8.00am on Sundays.

For baptisms and marriages, please come to the Parish Office, in church, on any Monday between 7.30 - 8.00 pm (except Bank Holidays).

If you have any queries or would like to speak to a priest please get in touch. You can also look at our new blog.

We hope to welcome you soon. Come and see!
